About me
Lauren Cash is an independent artist based in Richmond Virginia. Her style is alternative, singer-songwriter, primarily inspired by 60's and 70's and alternative music.
During her young childhood in Abingdon VA, her parents would take her to see the orchestra and afterwards, she would beg them for violin lessons. Lauren was trained on classical violin starting when she was 6 years old. Unfortunately, she sustained an elbow injury which forced her to take a step back from her training.
Years later, Lauren taught herself how to play guitar (with a little help from the internet) and discovered her voice. At fifteen, she started writing her own music, performing at showcases, and had the honor of singing "God Bless America" at Richmond's Flying Squirrels Stadium. Since then, she has been booking her own gigs and playing live shows at various venues and events around the Richmond Area including: Garden Grove, JJ's Grille, Mainline Brewery, Kindred Spirit, Center of the Universe, AW Shucks, ACAC rooftop, Crossroads RVA, The Watermelon Festival and various fundraisers.

Recently, she gradated from Elon University with a B.S. in Music Production and Recording Arts. Lauren had many opportunities to perform live while she was a student. She was in multiple bands including E3, a 70's cover band through the school, and played at numerous events on campus with a band she formed with her friends under the working name: "Ayo and the Heartbreakers." During her time at Elon, she worked staffing the recording studios, teaching underclassmen about Protools, signal flow, patching, mic techniques, and all other sorts of fun things. Additionally, she was heavily involved in Elon's annual Leading Women in Audio (LWIA) conference; an event that highlights female talent and contributions within the audio industry. In 2021, Lauren managed all the A/V components of this hybrid conference as the Technical Director and returned as the Co-Chair of LWIA the following year.
Upon graduating, Lauren has been playing live music around the Richmond area during the weekends, writing music, and is recording her original songs which will be released in the near future!
